Profile
Her career has placed her at the centre of some of Singapore’s most significant developments in financial services and technology in Singapore.
As General Counsel & Company Secretary of GXS Bank, Elizabeth was part of the leadership team that built the bank from concept to full operations following the award of one of only two Digital Full Bank licences by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. She advised on the development and launch of new financial and technology products, built legal and governance frameworks for the bank, and supported regional expansion involving the establishment of banking businesses across multiple jurisdictions.
Elizabeth was also General Counsel, Data Protection Officer & Company Secretary of Asia Pacific Exchange (APEX), where she helped establish Singapore’s third derivatives exchange from the ground up, including securing the necessary MAS licences and taking the exchange through to full operations.
She has also held senior roles with JPMorgan Chase and Meta, advising at the forefront of privacy, data protection and technology regulation across Asia Pacific. Her work included regulatory strategy and advocacy, navigating emerging data laws, incident and data breach response, and engagement with regulators across the region.
In private practice, Elizabeth has headed the corporate practice of a law firm, advising on banking and finance, corporate transactions, AI and tech, digital assets, strategic investments, governance and cross-border transactions.
What distinguishes Elizabeth is that she has not only advised businesses, she has helped build them.
She has worked alongside founders, boards, regulators, product teams and senior management from initial concept and licensing through launch, growth and regional expansion. This gives her a practical understanding of how legal, regulatory and commercial decisions actually play out within an organisation.
Through Equinix Law, Elizabeth provides senior, hands-on advice on complex transactions and business-critical matters, particularly where finance, technology, regulation and governance intersect. Her approach is commercially focused, responsive and designed to produce advice that can be implemented, not simply documented.
She advises a wide range of companies, founders, boards and international businesses on financing transactions, financial services arrangements, strategic partnerships, technology and data matters, corporate governance and complex commercial contracts.
